Cerveza Victoria is going long-term with Carín León. The two are marking a third straight year of partnership, and this time they’ve brought in Los Angeles-based designer Brenda Equihua to turn a piece of Mexican home decor into wearable art.

The collaboration centers on two jackets built from cobija fabric, the thick, colorful blankets found in Mexican households for generations.

Equihua, known for reworking cobijas into high fashion, stitched in boot-style embroidery and Sonoran desert tones, plus a lion print nodding to León’s “El León” nickname.

Only two jackets exist: one stays with León, the other goes to a fan through Victoria’s sweepstakes, running through VictoriaUSA.com from now through August 31. The winner also gets a trip for two and tickets to León’s “De Sonora, Para el Mundo” tour.

The giveaway builds on Victoria’s “Tu Victoria Está Aquí” campaign, which debuted its Lotería and Cobija ad spots in April. Per Victoria, Gen Z and Millennials now make up more than half of its U.S. drinkers, and the brand is leaning into younger, bicultural audiences without losing its heritage roots. Victoria’s celebrity roster also includes regional act Clave Especial.

This is a familiar playbook for beverage brands chasing culturally fluent audiences through music. Jameson took a similar route this spring, pairing J Balvin with designer Colm Dillane‘s KidSuper for a soccer-themed capsule collection tied to this summer’s World Cup.

Buchanan’s Whisky went further, commissioning Rauw Alejandro to record an original World Cup song, “Dando Vueltas,” his second collaboration with the brand after 2025’s “Asados Unidos.”

For León, the Victoria tie continues a run that’s included Amazon Music and Garena Free Fire endorsements.

On stage, 2026 has been career-defining: he made history at Miami’s Nu Stadium, is set to become the first Mexican artist to headline a festival in Tokyo, and will be the first Latin artist to perform at the Las Vegas Sphere in September.

Takeaways

This isn’t a logo slapped on a can. Victoria is building a recurring cultural ritual around León, the same way whiskey brands have leaned on reggaetoneros for World Cup buzz this year.

Making only two jackets exist, though, is scarcity marketing at its most literal, and it turns a sweepstakes into a genuine collectible chase.

Does capping a giveaway at one single, wearable piece drive more entries than a mass-produced merch drop would? With León now headlining in Tokyo and at the Sphere this year, is he becoming Música Mexicana’s most bankable brand ambassador?
