New Company:ROAM
Primary Agent:Maxx Lesnick, Brandon Hughes
Department:Live Music / Touring

  • Mod Sun has signed with global independent booking agency ROAM, with agents Maxx Lesnick and Brandon Hughes serving as point agents across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and South America.
  • The Minnesota-born pop-punk rapper previously held booking representation at United Talent Agency (UTA) and continues to be managed by Vector Management.
  • Mod Sun performed across all three stops of the landmark Vans Warped Tour 30th Anniversary in 2025 (Washington D.C., Long Beach, and Orlando) and is currently on the 2026 Vans Warped Tour lineup.
  • ROAM, formed in 2025 from the merger of Arrival Artists and ATC Live, is rapidly expanding its alternative and pop-punk footprint with a growing roster of 800+ artists across six global offices.

Mod Sun, the Bloomington, Minnesota-born singer, rapper, and multi-instrumentalist born Derek Ryan Smith, has signed with ROAM for booking representation in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South America.

Maxx Lesnick and Brandon Hughes are the point agents on the deal. He continues to be managed by Vector Management.

Known professionally as MOD SUN, an acronym for “Movement on Dreams, Stand Under None,” the artist previously held booking at United Talent Agency.

On the recording front, his most recent album God Save the Teen (2023, Big Noise Music Group), produced by John Feldmann, marked his second consecutive pop-punk release following Internet Killed the Rockstar.

He appeared across all three stops of the Vans Warped Tour 30th Anniversary in 2025 and is already confirmed for the festival’s 2026 run.

ROAM, launched in 2025 as the largest independent booking agency, has been aggressively building its roster. Earlier this year, the agency signed Imani Graham for representation in North America, and also brought on Oli XL for worldwide representation excluding North and South America.

Takeaways

This signing makes a clear statement. Mod Sun has been one of the more road-tested names in the pop-punk-meets-hip-hop space, and landing at ROAM, the agency that came out of one of the biggest agency mergers in recent independent music history, signals he’s actively building toward a new era of touring infrastructure.

The fact that Maxx Lesnick, who previously worked at Arrival Artists, Wasserman, and Paradigm, is co-heading the deal adds real weight here. With Vans Warped Tour back in full swing and Mod Sun locked in for the 2026 dates, the timing of this signing couldn’t be more strategic.

Vans Warped Tour is back and Mod Sun keeps showing up on the bill, is he positioning himself as one of the defining festival faces of the tour’s revival era? With God Save the Teen now two years old, could this booking shakeup be a signal that new music, and a major headline tour, is around the corner?
