I have been reaching out to persons listed as the appropriate contact for select celebrities via BAI with hopes of booking interviews on a radio show on our station (WYWM Radio).
To date we’ve only received a single response. We are wondering if our timing or approach is off?
Any suggestions?
So getting a response is one thing, and increasing the chances of you actually booking the guests is another thing. If your not getting any responses at all, its because theres something wrong in your email that you are using for outreach.
Now to increase your chances for booking guests, as Joshua asked. Here is what's important.
You have to think about "what is the reason why publicists book their clients for radio or any publication?". The reason is for exposure, and to increase attention for their client. So the most important thing that your radio station, podcast, or blog can have for booking interviews is numbers, meaning a large enough audience to where it is enticing for the publicist. Also, if you have booked other notable guests too, then this is also increases the chances as well. When publicists see that you have had other notable guests, it increases your credibility. The more notable guests that you get, the easier it is to get other notable guests.
Khalid, I am a radio producer as well and have had pretty good success but, I too would like to know some ways to optimize my chances of booking guests.
Likely its your approach.
Can you provide more information with what your putting in your outreach email?
