Jose Ribamar Coelho Santos (who’s popularly known with the moniker Zeca Baleiro) is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and musical artist who was born on April 11th 1966 in Arari, Maranhao, Brazil. He was born and raised in Brazil.

Zeca began his career performing in Sao Luis do Maranhao MA in 1975. His fame started to blow up after he appeared in Gal Costa’s special for Acustico MTV in 1997. Soon his first two albums Por Onde Andara Stephen Fry? (1997) and Vo Imbola (1999) won gold records. In 2000 he was nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards in the Best Pop Album category. He also won the 1999 Best Singer by APCA and three Sharp prizes in 1998 in the pop/rock category for best song, best album and revelation.
