Yomil y el Dany is a musical duo of Roberto Hidalgo Puentes (born on 9th October 1991) and Daniel Munoz (born on 6th January 1989). They are both Cubans. Munoz was a medical student, while Hidalgo was a mechanic. They were veterans of the vibrant reggaeton scene in Cuba and initially got success in clubs and social media. They went separate ways in 2011 before reuniting in 2015.

The band made a huge difference in the island’s urban genre since they released their debut track, titled “Tengo pegá.” They had a unique style and sound, completely different from the urban music made then in Cuba, so the fans named them the “Lo mas pegado de toda Cuba.” Their first album, titled “Doping,” featured the singles “Estamos Ta’ Po” and “Rikabery.” Sadly, Daniel Munoz passed away in Havana on 18th July 2020.
