Lee Ru-ma (born 15 February 1978) is a South Korean pianist and composer better known by his stage name Yiruma. Yiruma was born to a preacher in Seoul. He began learning the piano at the age of five and later traveled to the United Kingdom, where he studied at the Purcell School for Young Musicians and received a degree from King's College London. Yiruma returned to South Korea after graduation and released his debut album, Love Scene, in 2001. He became more well-known after playing piano renditions of the soundtracks from the famous 2006 drama Spring Waltz. He started as a DJ for KBS 1FM Yiruma's Music from All Over the World on January 1, 2009.
