Varien learned how to play the guitar and was already writing songs by age eleven. Varien also joined a number of bands to experiment with different genres of rock, grindcore, metalcore, and jazz. Varien learned how to play the piano at age fourteen.

Varien’s single The Force dropped in July 2011 under the alias Halo Nova. Varien also released a remix of Ephixa’s song Division.
