This is the Kit is the name of a British folk project led by Kate Stables. The band also includes Rozi Plain, Neil Smith and Jamie Whitby-Coles. The group performs in various configurations from duo to quintet with the core band consisting of Kate Stables who provides the vocals, and she plays the guitar and the banjo, Rozi Plain who plays the bass and provides vocals, Neil Smith who plays the guitar, and Jamie Whitby-Coles who is the drummer. They released their first album titled “Microbe” in 2008, and their second album “Wriggle Out the Restless” was released in 2010. That same year they recorded a Blogothèque Take-Away Show video session and they have been played on BBC Radio 6 Music. This is the Kit has also toured regularly with other bands such as Van Etten, Iron & Wine and Herman Dune.
