Born in 1970, Jakob Dylan rounded up all the members from the group, The Wallflowers, which were Tobi Miller (guitarist). Rami Jaffee (keyboard player), Barrie Maguire (bassist), and Peter Yanowitz (drummer) in 1990 in Los Angeles, California. Their debut album titled The Wallflowers was released in August 1992 - the sales were poor and Virgin, who initially signed them, dropped them as a result.
Dylan proceeded to assemble a new Wallflowers group, this time with Michael Ward on guitar, Greg Richling on bass, Mario Claire on drums and keeping only Rami from the first attempt on the keyboard.
The new group signed to Interscope labels and produced a second album, Bringing Down the Horse alongside producer T Bone Burnett and was released in May 1996. Later, in the same year, One Headlight was released as a single and by the next year’s spring in 1997, it became a Top Ten hit, pushing the second album into the tops of the charts as well. Jakob went on later in 2008 and started releasing solo albums, his first one titled, Seeing Things.
