The Garden is the collective name for twin brothers Wyatt and Fletcher Shears, who formed their band while still in high school. Their genre is self-described as “vada vada,” a term they coined meaning “total freedom of expression without boundaries or guidelines of any sort.” Having come from the golden bosom of Orange County – home to former president Richard Nixon – they have also worked as models for such fashion lines as Yves Saint Laurent, Hugo Boss, Ugg, and Balenciaga.
The Garden borrows a clown motif from the band Insane Clown Posse, the Internet hacker group Anonymous, and Heath Ledger’s depiction of the Joker. Connecting with the Internet Incel audience with their philosophy of arrogantly throwing out all music history and starting over, they have spread their flowering music to the world on tours.
