Hitesh Sharma (popularly known as Tesher) is a Canadian rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer who was born on July 7th, 1991 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was of Indian descent, and that heavily influenced his music.

Tesher studied at the Ivey Business School. His music career began in 2016 when he recorded and uploaded his tracks to YouTube and SoundCloud. Tesher’s earliest and greatest musical influences are Drake, Anitta, and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He is best known for his hit 2020 singles Young Shahrukh and Jalebi Baby. Young Shahrukh went viral and peaked at #1 on the UK Asian Music Chart in July and at #4 on Billboard’s Top Thriller Global in the same month.

In 2021 Tesher signed a record deal with Capitol Records in partnership with Universal Music India. By July the same year, he dropped Jalebi Baby with Jason Derulo. The track hit the Top 5 of the World Digital Song Sales chart.
