Soolking is an Algerian rapper, singer, and dancer. Soolking’s real name is Abderraouf Derradji. He started his musical journey from a radio show under the name MC Sool. Later, he took on the name Soolking for a more global appeal. His songs are kind of a mixture of Algerian folk music, hip-hop, reggae, and soul. Before becoming Soolking, he worked in many bands and groups as a music incorporator and dance instructor. Some of Soolking’s previous works include Africa Jungle and Jungle Soldat. His solo career kick-started in 2016 and from then, he has successfully released two albums Fruit du démon(2018) and Vintage(2020). His most famous song by far is Liberté which was featured by Ouled El Bahdja. This song has gotten internationally recognized as it has been used by young Algerian protestors during anti-state rallies. Also, his singles Dalida and Guérilla were certified Platinum.
