Shimon Yehuda Hayut (born September, 27 1990 in Bnei Brak, Israel), popularly known as Simon Leviev is most renowned as the Tinder Swindler.
He came into limelight after being exposed for a fraud estimated at $10 million. Shimon used the Tinder app as a platform to dupe women around the world claiming to be the son of Israeli-Russian diamond magnate, investor, philanthropist, and father of nine, Lev Avnerovich Leviev. Lev Leviev is also known as “The King of LLD Diamonds.”
In 2015, Leviev was sentenced to two years in prison in Finland, and in 2019 to 15 months in prison in Israel but only served 5 months.
In February, 2022, Netflix released a documentary on Shimon, exploring his past, how he became Simon Leviev, how far he has gone and where he is now. The documentary also gives a hint to some of the women he betrayed. His Netflix documentary was titled ‘Tinder Swindler’.
