About Shelby Blackstock
Shelby Blackstock (born Shelby Steven McEntire Blackstock) is an American racer and native of Nashville, Tennessee. Born on February 2, 1990, to country music singer Reba McEntire and ex-husband Narvel Blackstock, his parents, Shelby grew up in his native town with his older brother Brandon Blackstock. After discovering his passion for race driving, he decided to drop out of school to actualize his dream.
He first appeared in the Skip Barber race competition in 2010. He competed in the 2011 edition, finishing fifth. That same year, he made his professional debut in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.
The following year, Shelby elevated to the USF2000 National Championship with Andretti Autosport, finishing eight. His best finish with Andretti Autosport came in the Pro Mazda Championship in 2013, where he finished third in points. He won the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in 16 races.
In 2015, he moved up to the Indy Lights series. He made 50 starts, finishing on the podium twice. At the 2018 Indy Lights season, he finished second in the second race - his best finish at the competition.
In 2020, he and his co-driver Trent Hindman captured the GT World Challenge America, winning the series Silver Cup for professional drivers by default.
