Shane Filan is a singer and songwriter born on 5th July 1979 in Sligo, Ireland. He is widely recognized for being one of the two lead singers of the popular Irish boy band Westlife. The band was formed in 1998, dissolved in 2012, and regrouped in 2018. Shane has released some solo albums, including “You and Me” in 2013, “Right Here” in 2015, and “Love Always” in 2017. Growing up, Shane was a fan of Michael Jackson and said the singer inspired him to become a musician.
Before founding Westlife, Feehliy and Egan were with Shane called “Six as One,” and later joined “IOYOU.” He later formed Westlife with Brian McFadden and Nicky Byrne. The band released its first album, titled “Westlife,” in November 1999. After years of releasing several albums and playing around the world, the band was dissolved in 2012. Shane embarked on a solo career. They reunited in 2018 and released four singles the following year.
