Seimone Augustus is a former American professional basketball player, born on April 30, 1984, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She started playing basketball from a very early age and completed her graduation from Louisiana State University in 2006. The same year, she was drafted in the WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx, finished her rookie campaign second to Diana Taurasi, and was named 2006 WNBA Rookie of the Year. The guard/forward is a three-time Olympian in 2008, 2012, 2016 and she won medals on all three occasions. She picked up several other accolades during her career, including two All-Star teams and two All-WNBA teams. The American is also the founder of the Seimone Augustus Foundation that raises awareness around health and wellness with a special focus on hunger and heart health.
