Santiago Cruz Vélez is a Colombian singer and composer who was born on February 1, 1976.
Cruz was born in Ibagué, Colombia's musical capital, on February 1, 1976.
His mother, two grandmothers, and ten aunts raised him. After 17 years in his hometown and adolescence spent juggling studies and military service, Santiago relocated to Colombia's capital to pursue a degree in "Finance and International Relations."
Despite this, Cruz has always known that he would devote his entire life to music, which is one of his greatest pleasures.
Cruz released his first album, Solo hasta hoy, in 2003. His singing career began with the tune "Una y otra vez." This record also allowed him to meet and perform with a number of well-known musicians, like Alejandro Sanz, Miguel Bosé, and Franco de Vita. Since then, he's recorded several more albums and won countless awards.
