DJ and House music producer Samo Sound Boy was born Sam Griesemer on December 2, 1984, in New York, New York. He and his family relocated to New Hampshire when he was young, and after taking a break from college to travel, he ended up in Buenos Aires, an experience that proved very fateful for him. While touring the city, he frequented the dance club Fugees 99, where he was able to meet and befriend the weekly DJ who eventually allowed Samo to take a stab at spinning the table. He enjoyed himself so much that upon returning to his home in New York, he bought himself some DJ equipment and began to practice.

Samo Sound Boy released his debut EP entitled Taking It All in 2010, which he quickly followed with the EP Shuffle Code in 2011. That same year, Samo became co-founder of the Body High record label with Jerome LOL, a fellow DJ, through which many artists have released albums and EPs. Samo himself released two EPs under his own label: 5 Dollar Paradise in 2012 and then Your Love in 2013. He and partner Jerome LOL also put out a collaboration EP in 2011, entitled Stadium Status.
