Sam Pilgrim is a British freeride star and mountain biker who was born on June 4, 1990, in Colchester, Essex, England. He began riding when he was 14 years old, and the first competition he won was the Filthy 48.

He started to gain freeride followers and fans around the globe, and in 2008, he won the Nissan Qashqai Urban Challenge, which was held in London, and continued to win at different competitions, such as White Style in Leogang in 2011, and the Red Bull District Ride in Nuremberg, also in 2011. He participated in the FMB World Tour in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and it was on his third time that he became the first European athlete to win the competition. Sam is part of Monster Energy Mountain Biking, and his main bike sponsor is Haibike.
