Ruston Kelly is an American country singer and songwriter, born on July 31, 1988, in Georgetown, South Carolina. His debut EP titled Halloween, released in 2017 was produced by Mike Mogis, familiar for his work with Conor Oberst and Jenny Lewis. Ruston became known as a songwriter and got his first cut with Tim McGraw's song Nashville Without You in 2013. In 2018, he released his full-length follow-up, Dying Star, followed by his second full-length album, Shape & Destroy, in 2020. Both albums were co-produced by Ruston and Jarrad Kritzstein. The South Carolina native was the singer of the band Elmwood before going solo. He landed a publishing deal with BMG Nashville in 2013. During his career, he penned songs for artists like Josh Abbott, Kelly, Kenny Chesney, and more.
