Robin Byron Lopez was born on April 1, 1988 in North Hollywood, California. His mother Deborah Ledford was a Stanford swimmer who tried out for 1968 U.S Olympic team. Robin followed his mother’s step and attended Stanford University playing sports. Robin had a successful basketball career at Stanford and was selected by the Phoenix in the 2008 NBA draft. Robin stayed with the Phoenix until 2012. Robin was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, formerly known as the New Orleans Hornets, in 2012 for a year. In 2013, he joined the Portland Trail Blazers. Robin set the Trail Blazers record for offensive rebounds in his first season. He played for the New York Knicks from 2015-2016, and then joined the Chicago Bulls in June 2016.
