Vithia, the singer for Rise of the Northstar, founded the band in 2008. Rise of the Northstar made their own distinctive "crossover" sound by fusing elements of hip-hop, hardcore, metal, and Japanese pop culture; their 2014 debut album, “Welcome”, helped them gain international recognition. Vocalist Vithia, worked along with Mazin Erwan & Evangelion B specialist on guitars, Fabulous Fab on bass, and Hokuto no Kev on drums. From the beginning, their music was extremely aggressive, fusing the macho swagger of hip-hop and the righteous fury of metallic '90s New York tough-guy hardcore with contemporary metalcore influences. Vithia's distinctive style of shouting and rapping in English, with brief phrases of French slang, was added to the mix. Additionally, they received a licencing offer from Nuclear Blast, which helped the album gain significant international exposure.
