Red Sun Rising is an American rock band formed in Akron, Ohio in 2006. They are best known for the singles “The Otherside” and “Emotionless.” Both singles reached number one on the Billboard Mainstream Rock song chart. The current members of the band are Mike Protich on lead vocals and guitar, Ryan Williams on lead guitar, Dave McGarry on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Ricky Miller on Bass guitar and backing vocals and Pat Gerasia on drums and percussion. The band was started by Mike Protich and Ryan Williams in 2006 and by 2007 they had their full line-up. They released their debut independent album in 2010 self-titled Red Sun Rising and followed it up the next year with their second independent album Making of Kings. In 2012 they released their debut EP titled The Fix. They have since released the EPs Into Forever and Peel. In 2014 they were signed with the label Razor & Tie Records and in 2015 released the album Polyester Zeal. They released their second album with the label in 2018 titled Thread.
