Swedish ice hockey defenseman Rasmus Dahlin was born on 13th April 2000 in Trollhattan, Sweden. He started his career with the Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League. At 16, he became the youngest Swedish player at the IIHF World Championship. He was also the youngest player at the 2017 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship. His team bagged silver at the 2018 World Ice Hockey Championship. Before the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, he became a very popular prospect. He was drafted first overall by the Buffalo Sabres.He became the first Swedish player to be drafted since 1989 and the second Swedish player overall to be drafted into the NHL. His NHL debut came in the 2018-2019 season against the Boston Bruins. His contract with the Sabres was extended in 2021, and he opened the following season with an NHL record for goals by a defenseman at 4 in consecutive opening games.
