Raça Negra is a Brazilian musical group that was formed in 1983 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The group was formed by two close friends Luiz Carlos and Paulinho. While Luiz manned the guitar, Paulinho played the bass. They later recruited more additions to the group. The group’s debut album Raça Negra Vol. 1 appeared in 1991 featuring Luiz Carlos’ Caroline single. The album featured other hits like Quero Ver Você Chorar, Somente Você and Chega. Their increased popularity got them invited to play on TV in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo which increased their nationwide popularity. Some of their other albums include Vem pra ficar (2000), Raça Negra - Ao Vivo (2005) and Raca Negra & Amigos (2012). Their other hit releases include Cigana, Quando Te Encontrei, Cheia de Manias, Doce Paixão and Me Leva Junto com Você.
