Coming from Bellevue, Washington, United States, Queensryche was formed in 1982. Their contemporaries were Van Hale, Aerosmith, and Kiss. Their 1988 album “Operation: Mindcrime” was their first ever break into mainstream music. It was then followed by “Empire” which was considered to be the band’s biggest success.

Their hit single “Silent Lucidity” made the album to be sold for over two million copies. The band’s roots started in 1981, when Chris DeGarmo and Michael Wilton recruited Geoff Tate, Eddie Jackson, and Scott Rockenfield. Their first EP was released in 1983 entitled “Queen of the Reich” under their own record label 206 Records.
