Filippo Neviani, better known by his stage name Nek, is an Italian singer-songwriter and musician who was born on January 6, 1972. Nek is well-known in Italy and throughout the Spanish-speaking world, and the majority of his albums have been issued in both Italian and Spanish.

Nek first gained international fame in 1997, when he competed in the Sanremo Music Festival's Big Artists section, and despite not winning, his song "Laura non c'è" (in Spanish: "Laura no está") became a major hit in Europe and Latin America that year, as well as the release of his fourth and million-selling album Lei, gli amici e tutto il resto, which was also his first album to be recorded in English.
