Molly Tuttle is an American vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist who was born on January 14, 1993, in Santa Clara County, California. Being the daughter of Jack Tuttle, a very skilled and respected bluegrass multi-instrumentalist, she learned to play the guitar when she was 8 years old and joined the family band. In 2004 they recorded their first album, called “The Old Apple Tree”. At the age of 17, she decided to pursue her own career. In 2012 she was admitted to Berklee College of Music, received the Bluegrass Music's Hazel Dickens Memorial Scholarship and Chris Austin Songwriting Competition at the Merlefest Music Festival among other achievements. In 2014, while in Berklee College, she joined the girl band The Goodbye Girls alongside Allison de Groot, Lena Jonsson, and Brittany Karlson. They released an EP in 2014 called “Going to Boston” which was followed by the album “Snowy Side of the Mountain” in 2016. In 2018 she became part of the band “First Ladies of Bluegrass” formed by Alison Brown, Missy Raines, Sierra Hull, and Becky Buller. Together they won the Recorded Event of the Year award in the International Bluegrass Music Awards.
