Miroslav ''Rusev'' Barnyashev is a Bulgarian-American professional wrestler and former powerlifter and a rower, born on December 25, 1984, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He is known under the ring name Rusev during his 10-year career in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Later he was signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) under the ring name Miro. He made his in-ring debut under the ring name Miro on September 23, 2020, defeating Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss in a tag match. He is the only Bulgarian wrestler to have wrestled for WWE. He is also known as The Bashing Bulgarian, The Bulgarian Brute, and The Super-Athlete. He is a three-time WWE United States Champion. He won his first championship in AEW in 2021 after defeating Darby Allin to become the new AEW TNT Champion.
