Miguel Angel Alvarez, 25th August 1941 – 16th January 2011, was a Puerto Rican actor, movie director, and comedian. Also called El Men, Miguel was born Puerto Rico. He was known for his outstanding role in “Barrio Cuatro Calles,” “El fondo del Mar,” and “The Crime of Padre Amaro.” Miguel started his career as a radio announcer for radio station WIAC. Later, he participated alongside Ramón Rivero "Diplo” in the radio show “El Tremendo Hotel.” He made his theatrical debut in the plays “Singles Club,” “The Case of the Living Dead” (El Caso del Muerto en Vida), and “María Soledad.”
His popularity skyrocketed, and he started shooting films in countries like Spain, Mexico, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and the United States. He was given a leading role in the Mexican film El Señor Doctor (1965) alongside Cantinflas and Marta Romero. He directed “Arocho y Clemente”, “Dos Contra el Destino”, “Natas es Satán” and “El Alcalde Machuchal”.
