Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, Mercyful Fate is a Danish music band that performs heavy metal and gothic metal. The makeup of the band has changed throughout the year, but it currently consists of King Diamond on vocals and keyboard, Hank Shermann on guitar, Mike Wead on guitar, Joey Vera on bass guitar, and Bjarne T. Holm on drums and percussion.
Mercyful Fate was formed in 1981, and two years later, they released their debut studio project Melissa. Their discography includes the hit singles Evil, A Dangerous Meeting, Curse of the Pharaohs, Come to the Sabbath, Witches’ Dance, Into the Coven, and the albums Don't Break the Oath, Into the Unknown, and Dead Again.
