Matthew Gray Gubler is an American filmmaker, actor, model and painter.  Born in Las Vegas, Matthew Gray Gubler is a graduate of the Las Vegas Academy of International Studies, Visual and Performing Arts and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he majored in film directing.
Gubler then worked as a model for companies such as Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs and American Eagle before landing his starring role as Dr Spencer Reid in Criminal Minds, a role he has held since 2005. Working alongside actors such as Mandy Patinkin, Shemar Moore and Thomas Gibson in the television show, Gubler has also found success as a filmmaker directing many successful projects including several episodes in Criminal Minds and two music videos for the band, The Killers.
