Worship leader, singer-songwriter and author Matthew Redman was born on February 14, 1974 in Watford, England. He has been a full-time worship leader since the age of 20 and has assisted in church plantings (establishing new Christian churches) in both the UK and the US as well as South Africa, Japan, India, Australia, Germany and Czech Republic. He released his first album Wake Up My Soul in 1993 and has since released ten additional albums including Passion for Your Name (1995), Where Angels Fear to Tread (2002), Facedown (2004), and We Shall Not Be Shaken (2009.)
Some of Matt Redman’s most popular early songs include “Heart of Worship”, “You Never Let Go”, “Let Everything That Has Breath”, “Once Again”, “Undignified”, and “Better Is One Day”. More recently he has co-written songs like “You Never Let Go”, the 2005 Dove Award-winning “Blessed Be Your Name” and the Grammy Award nominated “Our God.” His songs have been covered by Contemporary Christian artists such as Matt Maher, Michael W. Smith, Jeremy Camp, Rebecca St. James, Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Tree63, Kutless, Stellar Kart, and Hillsong United.
Matt Redman is also the author of several books, including The Unquenchable Worshipper, Facedown, Mirrorball, Blessed Be Your Name (co-authored with his wife, Beth Redman) and Indescribable (co-authored with Louie Giglio). In 2011, his album 10,000 Reasons reached Number 1 on the US Christian album chart. His most recent offering, the 2013 live album Your Grace Finds Me, also reached Number 1 on the Christian Music chart and the title track also became his first Number 1 single on American Contemporary Christian radio.
