Matthew Garrett Forte, better known as Matt Forte, is an American professional football player who played as a running back in the NFL. He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States, on December 10, 1985. Matt spent his developmental years playing for Slidell High School and the Green Waves of Tulane University. He turned professional in 2008 when he was selected by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the NFL Draft. He spent most of his NFL career with the Chicago Bears, but he played for the New York Jets in the 2016-2017 season which would be his last season in the NFL. Throughout his career in Chicago, he played alongside Kyle Long, Chris Conte, Bryce Callahan, and Cameron Meredith. His career highlights include two Pro Bowls, two Brian Piccolo Awards, All-C-USA, and 100 greatest Bears of All-Time.
