Mastermind is a Nepalese rapper, a key figure in Nep-Hop (Nepalese Hip-hop) in the UK. He was born in Kathmandu, Nepal to a Somali father, and a Mancunian Welsh-Yemini mother, being one of the eight children in the family. During his early years, he began rapping in his hometown, getting inspired by the OG’s and the people. In 2015, he started to produce his music independently, reaching 6.6M views in a span of three months. In the same year, he performed for Manchester City at Puma’s kit launch, and also at Park Life. The collaboration he made in the song “Hungry”, with the Toronto rapper Robin Banks in 2016 helped him to gain popularity in Canada, placing him on the international stage. In 2019 he released “WaveTime” his first single, and months later, posted “WaveTime 2”, and premiered on “1 Xtra Show”, MistaJam’s BBC Radio program as his “Jam Hot”, featuring with the rappers Nafe Smallz and Chip. He has also participated in Freestyle.
