Martin Castillo was born on March 24, 1980, in Los Angeles, California. He is also called king of corrido or El Toron by many of his fans. He is an alternative singer, songwriter, drummer, and producer whose songs have appeared on the Mexican top charts. He started music at the age of five and as a teenager he created a band named Los Dos de la Sierra. The band played on Mexican circuit, which is how he gained his popularity.

After recording several albums with the band, Castillo left to began his solo music career. He makes songs and videos that he posts on YouTube, which has helped him gain him many more followers. He also tours a lot. His debut album for Sony, Poder y Respeto, was released July 2012. He has released several other albums including Entre la Lumbre (2015) and La Historia de Mi Vida (2016).
