Marques Toliver is an American violinist, singer and composer from Daytona Beach, Florida, U.S. He studied at Stetson University’s Music School Classical Violin. After his studies he moved to New York, and he soon joined the Williamsburg set, recording live on The Radio and also playing alongside Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson’s band. He started making a name for himself in the music industry and after getting praises from established artists like Adele, he signed to Universal Publishing and Transgressive Management. In 2010, he performed as one of the few unsigned artists on the show “Later With Jools Holland”. He released then his debut EP “Butterflies Are Not Free”, with sounds influenced by Beyonce and Gospel music. After several world tours, Toliver started working on his EP “Studying For My Ph. D.”.
