Marnie Stern was born in New York City on March 18, 1976. She sent the tape with her song to Kill Rock Stars and was signed to 5RC. She released her first album, In Advance of the Broken Arm in 2007 and it featured drums by Zach Hill from Hella. She released the follow-up album in 2008. This Is It, and I Am It and You Are It, and So Is That and He Is It was followed by her self-titled album released in 2010 by Kill Rock Stars. Marnie Stern included tracks such as Transparency Is the New Mystery and For Ash. She released another album The Chronicles of Marnia in 2013. There are ten tracks in the album including Year of the Glad, Still Moving, and East Side Glory.
