Lori Petty is an American actress and director. She was born on the 14th of October, 1963, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, U.S. She started her acting career in the late 1980s, when she starred in the movie “Bates Motel” directed by Richard Rothstein. Her breakthrough role came in 1991, when she portrayed a surfer in the cult action movie “Point Break” starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. The next year, she was cast in one of the main roles of “A League of Their Own” in 1992. In 1993 she landed a role as a kind-hearted whale trainer in “Free Willy” and a year later she joined the cast of the comedy film “In The Army Now”. In 1995 she starred in the post-apocalyptic film adaptation of the cult comic book “Tank Girl”. Overall, Petty has credits in more than 15 movies including “Route 666”, “Prey for Rock & Roll” and “Dead awake”. She also has credits in over 20 television series such as “NYPD Blue”, “CSI: NY” and “The Cleaner”. She made her directorial debut in 2008, when she directed “The Poker House” a short movie, which won awards at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
