Lonestar is an American country band formed in 1992 in Tennessee. It consists of Texas natives Richie McDonald (lead vocals, guitar), John Rich (vocals, bass), Michael Britt (guitar, vocals), Dean Sams (keyboard, vocals), and Keech Rainwater (drums). Their live debut came in 1993 at the Backstage Pass festival in Nashville. In 1994 they signed with BNA records and released a self-titled full-length debut album, including “Tequila Talking”, a Top Ten hit. In 1997 they released “Crazy Nights” and returned to the charts with “Lonely Grill” in 1999. They had a prolific career in the 2000s, with the holiday-themed “This Christmas Time” (2000), a compilation titled “From There to Here” (2003), and three more records before a lineup change that saw lead vocalist McDonald replaced by Cody Collins. Their 2010 effort “Party Heard Around the World” tracked high on the Billboard 200 and Country charts, and with the return of McDonald, the band issued “Life as We Know It” in 2013, followed by “Never Enders” in 2016.
