The Lonesome Trio is an American bluegrass jazz band formed out of Ohio’s Oberlin College.  The group consists of actor and comedian Ed Helms, born on January 24th, 1974 in Atlanta, Georgia, Ian Riggs, and Jacob Tilove. Ed played the guitar, Riggs was on bass, and Jacob played the mandolin; the trio all provided vocals for the band.
