Larry Wilmore is an American actor, writer, and comedian who was born on October 30, 1961, in Los Angeles, California. He enrolled at California State Polytechnic University to study theatre but ended up dropping out to start his career as a stand-up comedian. His acting career started in 1983 when landed the role of Officer Ziaukus in “The Facts of Life” for a total of 3 episodes. In 1990, his behind-the-scenes career started when he worked as a writer for “Into the Night with Rick Dees”, and continued to write for different TV series, such as “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and “In Living Color”. He then guest-starred on many TV shows, such as “The Office”, “Happy Endings” and “Love Bites”, and appeared in movies like “Dinner for Schmucks” and “Vamps”. In 2002, he won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for the pilot of 2001 “The Bernie Mac Show” and got a total of 11 nominations in his entire career up to this day.
