Larry King, also known as Lawrence Harvey Zeiger, is an American TV and radio host born in Brooklyn, New York. In the 1950s he moved to Miami to work in the radio, and by the next decade, he transitioned to news and sports television and acquired his own audience. In 1978 he debuted as a host of a national Mutual Broadcasting System late-night show with a live-calling format. His program succeeded and in 1985 he also started hosting a nightly, interview-intensive CNN live show called “Larry King Live”. The show aired until 2010, and by 2012 King partnered with mexican businessman Carlos Slim to found OraTV, where he started hosting “Larry King Now”. He won the Peabody Award for broadcasting in 1982 and 1992, and in 1996 he was introduced to the Broadcasters' Hall of Fame. He has also made TV and film appearances, including episodes of the series “30 Rock” and “Gravity Falls”, and also cameos in “Ghostbusters” (1984) and “Bee Movie” (2007).
