Latin hip-hop group Kinto Sol consists of three brothers: Javier Garcia (DJ Payback Garcia), Eduardo Garcia (El Chivo), and Manuel Garcia (Skribe). The brothers were born in Iramuco, Guanajuato, Mexico, but moved to the United States when they were children. They are now based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The group raps mainly in Spanish about political issues, and combines Mexican and hip-hop beats to create a unique sound. Their debut album entitled “Del Norte al Sur (From North to the South)” was released in 2001. They followed that up with the 2003 release of “Hecho en Mexico (Made in Mexico).” They next released “La Sangre Nunca Muere (Blood Never Dies)” in 2005. With each album release, they gained more followers even though they never received radio airplay. They signed with Univision in 2007 to release “Los Hijos del Maiz (The Sons of Corn)” that same year.”Los Hijos del Maiz” reached number ten on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart and number six on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Albums chart. Also in 2007, they released “Los Rayos (Rays),” which reached number six on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Albums chart as well.

In 2008, they won the Best Rap/Hip-Hop award at the Latin Billboard Music Awards. Kinto Sol released “Carcel de Sueños (Jail of Dreams)” in 2009, and “El Último Suspiro (The Last Breath) in 2010. “El Último Suspiro” reached number one of the Billboard Latin Rhythm Albums chart and number seven on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. They were nominated for another Latin Billboard Music Award for Best Latin Rhythm Album Artist of the Year, Duo or Group. They released “Familia, Fe y Patria (Family, Faith, and Home)” in 2012, which reached number nine on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. In 2013, they released “La Tumba del Alma (The Tomb of the Soul).” Kinto Sol released their eleventh album, “Protegiendo el Penacho (Protecting the Crest),” in 2015.
