Kenny Lattimore (April 10, 1970) is a Grammy award-winning soul singer-songwriter. Raised in Washington D.C., Kenny was introduced into music through gospel and R&B. He first immersed himself in the R&B scene as the vocalist of R&B group Maniquin. In 1995, Kenny moved to New York to sign with Columbia Records as a solo act, releasing a self titled album, ‘Kenny Lattimore’ in 1996, which received a gold certification in the next year. The album contained his most notable hit ‘For You’ which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. Kenny released his second album in 1998 titled ‘From The Soul of a Man’ known for his cover of the Beatles’ ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’. In 2001, he moved to record label Artista to release his third album, ‘Weekend’ in 2001. His next two albums were sung with his wife Chante Moore, the fourth being ‘Things That Lovers Do’ followed by ‘Uncovered/Covered’. Kenny began to return to his solo work in 2008 with the cover album, ‘Timeless’. In 2012, he put up his own independent record label SincereSoul, where he produced popular records such as Anatomy of a Love Song (2015), A Kenny Lattimore Christmas (2016), and Vulnerable (2017). New York Times called him a “modern soul man”, winning the NAACP Image Award for Best New Artist, along with nominations from Soul Train and Stellar Awards. The now 52 year-old is currently active with his non-for profit, the Kenny Latimore foundation that provides disadvantaged children access to education in creative fine arts.
