Kate Anna Rusby was born on December 4, 1973 in Barnsley, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. Kate who is sometimes referred to as the “Barnsley Nightingale” is a folk and pop/rock singer and songwriter from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England. She was introduced to British folk early along with her sister, Emma, and when she was 12, she already sang lead and played the guitar. She was one of a few folk singers nominated by Mercury Music Prize and her nomination was for Sleepless in 1999. She’s been described as “a superstar of the British acoustic scene” by The Guardian in 2001 and as “The first lady of young folkies” by the BBC website in 2007. She released several songs and then in 2007 she wrote and produced her solo album called Awkward Annie. She took a break after having her first child from 2009 until late 2010 when she returned with an album that was composed entirely by her called Make the Light. The following years brought more albums and in 2016 she released her 14th album called Life in a Paper Boat. Every December she goes on a Christmas tour throughout the United Kingdom.

I signed up for Booking Agent Info because I was having a hard time finding management and publicist info for artists that I wanted to interview for the publication that I write for. At first I was really skeptical about things, I didn't know if the site was trustworthy. But I'm really glad I signed up! Rather than taking the time to dig through the internet, I can just go to Booking Agent Info and its all there for me. The site is very straightforward and any information I need is easy to search for.
