Zico Alberto Garibaldi Roberts was born on the 3rd day of June 1979, in Panama City. He is a singer and composer of dancehall and reggae music, who has adopted the stage name of "Kafu Banton". During his studies, he met Apache Ness who introduced him to the reggae world. In 1996 he performed in a local music competition and won first place. Later he started to produce his first single "Madman" with El Chombo, released in 1996. He continued making music with El Chombo under the name of"Cuentos de la Cripta" until 1998. In 2000 he decided to release his first solo album named "The Best of Me" and since then he has jumped to an international audience. With time he has changed his music style, having more peaceful messages in his music.
