Justin Robertson, born June 11th, 1968 in Walton-on-Thames, England is an English DJ, record producer, and electronic musician. He began his music career in the 1990s at the Konspiracy Club in Manchester as its local DJ. While working as a record clerk in the Eastern Bloc Record shop he remixed a track for producer Mad Jack. The track called “Feel the Hit” was released through the in-house label Creed and became an underground success. He started his own club and label called Most Excellent in the early 1990’s and went on to run another club/label called Sleuth with Richard Hector-Jones.
In 1992 Justin released a solo EP on his Most Excellent label called Roots and Culture/Lionrock. The EP caught the attention of multiple artists and labels. He began to work as a remixer at this time and has gone on to remix tracks by Bjork, Erasure, Happy Mondays, Paul Weller, and Justice. In 1993 Justin released an additional EP under the label Deconstruction entitled Packet of Peace. The single of the same name charted in at number 32 on the UK Electronic/Dance charts.
In 1994 Justin released his debut album Lionrock and embarked on a world tour to promote its release. He then began production on a DJ mix album series entitled Journeys by DJs. In 2001 he released his next album, under his own label, entitled Justin Robertson presents Revtone. Justin continued to release mixes, EP’s and singles up to 2015.
