Jonatan Sanchez, born on November 29th, 1998 in Martinez, California is an American singer and songwriter of Mexican regional latin music. He began playing music at the age of 7 after asking his parents for a guitar. He began to mimic and learn to play the guitar by listening to his favorite bands, which include the likes of Los Tigres del Norte, Conjunto Primavera, and Los Temerarios.
As a teenager he began to record and post his music online. He started a garage band that covered song from The Beatles and classic Mexican songs. After the breakup of the band Jonatan began advertising himself as a solo act on social media and began to pursue a recording contract. He sent a message to Noel Torres on Instagram and asked to perform a duet on stage in Sacramento, California. Noel Torres ended up inviting Jonatan to the stage to sing with him.
In 2013 Jonatan was signed to the label Gerencia through his constant use of social media. In 2014 he had a guest verse on Favela’s single “Mis Gustos Mis Placeres.” In the same year he released his own single called “Mi Primera Vez on the labels Gerencia 360 and Sony Music. The single topped both the digital download and radio charts for Mexican Recional and Latin Pop music. He released his debut album, Mi Primera Vez in 2016. In 2017 Jonatan released an EP called Necesito una Companera.
