James Anthony Sturgess (who’s popularly known as Jim Sturgess) is a British actor and singer-songwriter who was born on May 16th 1978 in Wandsworth, London, England, United Kingdom. He was born in Wandsworth and raised in Surrey. His parents were Jane and Peter Sturgess. Jim rose to fame when he starred in the leading role as Jude in the 2007 musical film Across the Universe. Following that, he also appeared in The Other Boleyn Girl (2008) with Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson. He also appeared in the well-known 2011 film Dexter in One Day which was based on David Nicholls’ best-selling book. As a singer, Jim started performing and writing his own songs at the age of fifteen. He joined the band, Saint Faith, in 2000 when he moved to London.
